Result 1 — NHL: CAR vs MTL Game 5
Our Pick: Carolina Hurricanes Puck Line (-1.5) Stake: 1.5 units
Result: ✅ WIN
Carolina 6 — Montréal 1.
The Hurricanes were dominant from the first period. A 6-1 margin gave the Puck Line (-1.5) significant breathing room — the kind of result that reflected the structural superiority we outlined in our preview. Carolina’s forecheck was suffocating, Andersen was outstanding, and Montréal had no answer for the Hurricanes’ transition game once the game opened up.
This was the right pick for the right reasons. Carolina’s 12-1 playoff record now has them in their first Stanley Cup Final since 2006. More on that below.
Result: +1.5 units
Result 2 — NBA: OKC vs SAS Game 7
Our Pick: OKC Thunder -3.5 Stake: 1.5 units
Result: ❌ LOSS
San Antonio 111 — Oklahoma City 103.
We got this one wrong. Our case was built on home court advantage in Game 7s — historically a strong predictor. OKC was the better team at home in this series. What we underestimated was the Spurs’ ability to execute under pressure on the road, and specifically what Victor Wembanyama is capable of in a winner-takes-all environment.
Wembanyama finished with 22 points and was named Western Conference Finals MVP — the first player in NBA history to record more than 15 three-pointers and 15 blocks in a single playoff series. Stephon Castle added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. The Spurs were simply the better team on the night.
The 11-point margin against the spread was not a close miss. OKC went flat in the second half and never found an answer. Credit to San Antonio — they deserve their place in the NBA Finals.
Result: -1.5 units
Result 3 — UFC: Song Yadong vs Deiveson Figueiredo
Our Pick: Song Yadong ML Stake: 1 unit

Honest Assessment
We were right on the NHL. We were wrong on the NBA. The home court narrative in Game 7s is historically valid — but narratives do not override individual performance, and Wembanyama delivered a historically exceptional playoff series.
We will update the UFC result as soon as it is verified.
One note on the parlay: the three-leg parlay lost once OKC went down. As we stated in the original post, parlays are entertainment — not strategy. The individual picks are how we measure performance.
